This is just stoooopid. The Northeastern states with the early outbreaks didn’t understand the nursing home problem and nobody had a clue how to treat the disease. Of course the death rates were high. If you’re in Wisconsin in October with your red hat and Trump sign on your lawn, your state has rigorous infection control at the nursing homes and the hospitals know how to treat people based on what was learned back in March-April.

"At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in a March 17 letter to Raimondo, RIHCA asked the governor to stop moving hospital patients who remained untested for COVID 19 into nursing homes, saying that ignoring this request for weeks, the transfer of a number of hospital residents was responsible for the initial spread of the virus in the homes."
269 cases today, with 182 from Wed according to Projo. Take a look at the RIDOH cases over time: https://ridoh-covid-19-response-data...ub.arcgis.com/
This looks more and more concerning! Where are the scientists calling out to the governor to put the brakes on NOW?! Why is she so unconcerned? They must know that disaster is approaching, considering our current rate of increase in cases (and hospitalizations ticking up, now, too!).

The rise in cases is due to the opening of the schools. Perhaps if parents put less pressure on the schools to reopen and/or didn't send their kids in, cases would drop.

Well, I wouldn't blame the parents. They need the childcare, and want their kids to learn. Our government has encouraged the reopening of schools and universities. And they have recently been pushing the more cautious school districts hard to fully reopen - despite a rise in cases. Plus, people knew opening colleges would lead to further spread.
