Good question. Are those golfers walking to the course with their clubs?

Gina is taking a common sense approach. People aren't congregating on golf courses.

From Gina's update today...

  • 116 new cases (922 total)
  • 8 new deaths (25 total) -- 3 were from Golden Crest nursing home. 2 were from Oak Hill nursing home.
  • 103 people are currently hospitalized.
  • There is widespread community spread.
  • We're climbing up the curve; we're a couple weeks away from the peak.
  • "Be kind to the people in your life"
  • Still a major problem with people crowding into big box retailers. Walmart, Lowe's, grocery stores, etc.
  • Lots of people not complying with social distancing.
  • Gina said she will shut down EVERYTHING if it continues.
  • If you have symptoms, get tested even if you don't have health insurance.
  • Don't worry about the official military type uniforms at the testing places. They are not immigration officers.
  • Manufacturers in RI are open. "People need to work". Must comply with all rules and there are spot checks.

You can now get tested without a doctor's approval.

Go to cvs.com and make an appointment, then go to Twin River for rapid testing. You'll get the results in 30 minutes. Only for RI residents age 18 and older.

Edited to add: You should only do this if you have symptoms.
