Dylan Conley is challenging Rhode Island's perennial back-bench congressman. While Conley will likely lose, don't be surprised if the challenge is closer than in the past. Regardless, how ineffective incumbents are in RI, they rarely get replaced. But, look for Langevin to disappear when RI's second congressional seat disappears. Nice enough fellow, but won't much be missed due to his rather weak record after so many years. https://www.providencejournal.com/ne...oYXut0MSHofYUY
Anecdotally, I've heard that he's at least somewhat effective as far as constituent services. Can't say that about the other ding dong there.
The other "ding dong" will likely be a senator when the first one of the current two finally retires. Or, if one becomes part of a Biden administration. I'm no fan, because Cicilline was a terrible mayor. But, he's better positioned to bring home the bacon to RI. He's one of the best power politicians in DC.
Because you're an ideologue. You'd rather have a useless & ineffective "moderate" on the back bench than an effective "lib" in a position of real power for the state.
