The country's oldest Chinese American group, The Chinese American Citizens Alliance of New York, has denounced CRT as hateful, racist, repressive, manipulative, discriminatory and divisive. Through my girlfriend, I know some of these folks and they're smart, savvy, successful and dedicated Americans. Can we be certain that theirs isn't the "truth"?

This doesn't quite fit in this thread, but...saw this in golocal today: https://www.golocalprov.com/news/tri...pressive-langu https://www.brandeis.edu/parc/accoun...guagelist.html
At this point, the university states "Use of the suggested alternatives is not a university expectation or requirement. The language you choose to use or not use is entirely up to you." But are faculty eventually going to end up writing a script for every one of their classes to avoid using "oppressive" language like "rule of thumb", "take a stab at it" or "long time no see", and avoid back and forth conversation with students?

"This list will grow and change all the time." Yes of course it will.

I'm guessing that asking my Chinese girlfriend to do my laundry is out.

Only guessing, but probably few of the members of the Chinese American group descended from enslaved people in America. Regardless, that they would care enough to make such an extreme denouncement is curious. Must be a rather interesting group.
