Imposing your music (noise) on others is a simple matter of disrespect. Culture, age & social class should not be excuses or reasons to tolerate the uncivil behavior. But, using racist tinged language in the argument can be seen as giving a degree of license to those who are disrespectful. A license they don't deserve. Citizens should just rise up and demand enforcement of noise ordinances in Newport or anywhere in RI that it's a problem.

That would certainly be an ideal Rhode Island. Right now it appears to be a pipe dream since cops are "too busy" to bother.

If you're interested in what your local police are "busy" doing, try reading a couple of pages in that fella's crime thread. You people are really something else. Whine and cry about your cops....right up until you need 'em. And I think you know what they'd be called the minute they shut down the boom box of a "POC". Ask me, you've got a much better police force than you deserve.

B**ch and moan about jackbooted storm troops shutting down a riot 3000 miles away, and then want 'em code 3 to suppress the noise of an errant leaf blower on your own street.
Last I looked the Providence Police is now at around 400 officers. That is 100 less than they had during the Buddy years, so probably not a whole lot of free time for any sort of "proactive policing".
The anti-cop "progressives" in Providence are starting to get a taste of what city life looks like when their wishes are answered. And trust me, their whining will be the first and most vociferous. I might drive down there just to see the look on their faces. Gutless, and grousing, hand-wringing malcontents.

You're the first to excuse "good" trouble when it's 3000 miles away and the first to exhort your fellow citizens to "rise up" against the "bad" trouble of a loud radio in your own neighborhood. And if your windows started to smash in?

Except, in this case - what he is saying is undeniably true.
So it really doesn't matter where he's from, now does it?
