You won't catch my plate sporting a constellation of tags.
I've got a photo of a plate with 12...
Meh. I had green plates on my cars until I sold the Killington condo last May. Nobody at my Massachusetts summer place cared. There are tons of out of state summer residents. It was a PITA to get Colorado plates so I have a Mass plate. I had one in NH and one in VT when I lived in Portsmouth NH. Nobody cared there, either. My insurance company certainly didn’t care. They had cars, boat, and properties insured. They knew I straddled multiple states. In Vermont, you don’t need to be a resident to register a car.
I disposed of my mother’s car that was registered in North Kingstown. I turned the plate in promptly. I was surprised when a property tax bill showed up many months later. The tax is in arrears and was pretty stiff for an older car. Massachusetts for a 5+ year old car doesn’t pay much tax. A $40k MSRP car that is 5 years old pays $100 in excise tax. I can certainly see people avoiding RI taxes and city insurance if they can get away with it. With Brown, “I’m a graduate student” would work.
Um...did I ever say I would be there forever? Or anywhere, for that matter??? I went where I needed to be at the time, and am currently where I need to be right now. Circumstances change. Priorities change. New opportunities arise, etc.. Some of us need to work for a living. You make the best of wherever fate might lead you, and go from there. Same old song and dance. How about minding your own business?
Lol, ok. Do you realize how many times you've told me what to do and where not to go? Or your insistence that you know more about the where's and why's of ormari's residence than he does. Or your slander that people here are slumlords. You give some good advice. If only you would take it. We could all do better about minding our own business

In your shoes, I'd unload that dump ASAP.
Don't flatter yourself. Consider your advice? In my estimation, you offer the worst advice here! Even in the rare event that you stumble onto good information, your junk status prevails.
How capital gains taxes work for one's primary residence is elementary. I've known several people who, at retirement time, sold off their primary house, pocketed the gains, and moved to their second home for two+ years so they could lather, rinse, repeat, before moving somewhere else entirely.
That "transitional" neighborhoods experience higher volatility is pretty elementary as well; it happens everywhere. This was factored in at purchase time. Every home buyer should do a SWOT analysis no matter where they buy.

Of course it's all elementary stuff for the most part. And the advice I give you here is pretty elementary as well (although solid). Take it or leave it. Totally not my problem either way.

Yes, I freely give device that is on topic to the forum and discussion. I also call out the self promotional interests that routinely come up here, that are quite apparent to the trained eye but can easily mislead the untrained eye. Where I live has nothing do to with anything discussed in this forum, I have no stake in any of it.

I'll leave it in the rubbish bin; can't even recycle it with the junk mail.

Presumed self promotional interests as identified in your febrile imagination... all the while feeding your schadenfreude.
This happened at the Family Dollar on Plainfield St. in Olneyville (very near to the NY System). A man in his 40s was shot from a "sedan with four masked men".

So what's the verdict? Another Mass. plated vehicle stolen in Seekonk by a bunch of honors students from Barrington?
