Does anyone actually believe that suppressing crime discussions on the City-Data RI forum would result in increasing the value of an inherited house? Seems delusional to me.

Otherwise you wouldn't be accusing anyone who disagrees with you of having a financial motive to do so.
Belittlement & lies is all they have. They are alone out on a limb. Rather sad, but they're residing in the negative crazy town of their own making. But, beware, one has been tossed off of the forum before, for what extreme behavior we don't know.

I had a good laugh when I read that. Poor plum is getting confused by his own lies. The whole narrative about people posting on CD to boost property values (or dupe prospective renters) is his (and his pal's) own creation. So now he's arguing against himself. What's even funnier is that it's not the first time that's happened in recent weeks.

Because they are incapable of grasping the fact that anyone might disagree with their opinion of something or some place. So they make up stories and narratives (usually including some sinister ulterior motive) about posters who disagree with them to both elevate their own opinion and take away from the other poster's.

Maybe because you mentioned before that your father-in-law still lives there and possibly some day your wife will inherit all of or a portion of said property? Some people would be motivated by that, unfortunately. I'm not saying you are.
I think your motive is more that you hope/wish these former run down mill towns are improving because you have good memories of living in RI and hope to again someday.
