Chesterfield Schools are excellent. However, the ones North of Hull St. and West of Courthouse Road/Huguenot Road are the best. Better neighborhoods.

Update! Having just returned from a short trip to Richmond to view the area, we are now including the Short Pump area in our field of possible places to buy along with Chesterfiled. In the Chesterfield district we are looking at houses within the Cosby and Manchester High school areas. In the Short Pump area we only heard about Deep Run High. Anyone with more info. on any of these schools/areas, please let me know. Many thanks for the help.

Try areas with Godwin and Freeman, also. Those two and Deep Run are all neck-and-neck with each other and all top quality. Deep Run is newer, but the area is more prototypical suburbia: if you are in Godwin and Freeman districts you can get slightly less cookie-cutter, although it's all still the burbs. Cool burbs, though.
