i'll see if they can at least bump me up to extreme w/ the $30 off. I tried to call comcast last night, but hung up after holding 35 minutes. I'm on hold 17 minutes right now as i'm typing this!!

I love your bluntness. I've worked for both companies, so it's pretty much pick your poison.

Comcast is only offering 6-month promotions. So with fios start cutting things out like the DVR and the channels you don't really watch. Dish isnt worth it and comcast will jump to about the same price in six months. Login online and see what changes can be made. Use chat mode if it pops up. The online folks are usually more helpful than the call-in folks.

Had fios for 16 months around here and enjoyed their service. Customer service was horrible and terminating my service and returning equipment was a nightmare. I now get all the major networks for free over the air in HD. I ay for internet through Comcast. The service has been OK since switching.

Any recent opinions on fios versus comcast? I just need internet. I used to live in Florida and previously had comcast, which had terrible internet service. Appreciate any feedback!

I have FIOS and never have any issues anymore. I say "anymore" because for the first week of service, my internet would drop every single day. Customer service was OK (good...but nothing spectacular) and was able to get me reconnected within 15 minutes.

Since then I've had nearly flawless, very high speed internet with no problems other than having to reset the router every few weeks.

I do a bit of torrenting and my DL speeds are acceptable despite not being in the same room as the router (under a minute to download an album).

Default experience with FIOS high speed

Anyone here using the higher speed (50/25) , (75/35) internet offerings form FIOS? what is your experience in terms of reliability and overall quality.

I am using Comcast currently, but found out today that my promotional rate has expired and my bill is nearly doubling! The person i bought my house from had FIOS, so this place wired for it. There is a FIOS promotion going on right now that locks me into a 2 year price guarantee with no contract. I can more than double my speed and save $20 / month of my bill.

i live in the monument avenue park neighborhood close to the willow lawn shopping center..

thanks for the input

It's a no brainer, if you have an option other than Comcast take it. We have been on FIOS 4+ years and you couldn't pay me anything to go back with those idiots. Your choice though....
