Spending $400,000 to reap the benefits of a multimillion dollar annual impact over 8 years sounds like a good deal to me.

As you say it it sounds good as Richmond would manage it it becomes a giant mess....

EXACTLY! People are always quick to point out taxpayer-money blah, blah. Nobody ever mentions taxpayer Return On Investment, and new taxpayer jobs. Not to mention the increase on area tourism unrelated to sports due to long weekends and free advertisement. Let's remove the horse blinders people.

And for once lets get a race thats "above" the table and legitimately managed, not the usual side show run by City Councel.

Yeah true, but I wonder why the Redskins deal is a city "thing" but building a new park for the Flying Squirrels is a regional?

There is precedent. The region came together and shared in the cost burden the last time we needed a new ballpark.
