That's the hardest thing about being new to a region and house hunting -- I only know nicknames for areas, not what they're officially called.

I love the area around Mary Mumsford and the area around University of Richmond.

What are the "real" names real estate-wise of these places?

Thanks!

Alley

That area is called the near west end and I'm pretty sure that on the real estate maps that is all/or primarily in Area 20.

I think the non-Windsor Farms side of Cary (over toward Grove and Patterson, and) out toward UofR is often called Westhampton. Good schools, a nice walkable neighborhood, trees, a wide range of housing sizes and styles (pretty pricey).

Best of luck.

The good thing about your dilemma is that the Richmond MLS system allows realtors to search by schools ... Hook up with a knowledgeable realtorand begin exploring!
