'The planning staff projects that the County’s population will grow by over 34,000 between 2005 and 2011. This is almost 6,000 people per year compared to 5,100 per year from 1990 to 2000'.

Chesterfield Business : Resources : News

Thats a lot of growth for just one county. This is equivalent to 500 people/month. Is Chesterfield County or its infrastructure ready to absorb this movement? I am all for development and appropriate growth but not at the expense of crime, worsening educational & driving conditions and lessening of civility.

What are the predicitions for population trends in the next 5 years?

Not sure whether they are prepared, but because of the economy population growth has slowed considerably. In the last three years it has only increased by 10,000. Of course that could change if people could find jobs and sell their homes once again.

I'm for developement & all but I've been living here my entire life. I'm still young [ under 25 ] but its lost so much of that small town feel even since then. Hopefully they can do something about that soon! Break Cfield up into Ironbridge & Midlothian? Lol I wish!
