Last night with all the Tornado warnings being broadcast on TV, they did constantly interupt with the updated emergency broadcast info. Here's the problem we had.........The message was never fully broadcast. It would cut out every few seconds. You could never hear the message in its entirety. A few local programs and the news maps were constantly filtering through the message for micro seconds at a time. Is this normal here? I thought when the message gets broadcasted to everyone, it should be entirely audible and comprehensible.

The EAS system is run by the government it overrides all local level broadcast on designated channels, It works the same everywhere. If your sure it's actually messing up, call your provider. To clarify your talking about the actual Emergency Broadcast system rights? Terrible alarm clock noise follow by beeps and messages? Not the news station interupting TV, thats different. As long as you don't have satellite it should (and legally has too) function fine.

I had heard the beeps, but once the gentleman starting talking and giving out the detail it was constantly being interupted by the news channels. In other words, you could never fully hear the actual instructions/warnings/locations of the strom in its entirety. You could tell a warning was trying to be projected, but you were never able to hear the entire message.

I think I know what you mean. Sometimes it doesn't show that black screen along with the audio. For example if you you're watching NBC it will just make the beeps but nothing else will happen. I guess that is because usually when that happens there is a rolling ticker but I guess that kinda sucks if you're blind.

It doesn't always happen on NBC I'm just saying at random it does happen. I've even had it NOT happen when I was watching digital channels (on Comcast) but it would broadcast over the tv with basic cable.

I would not rely on them much. They usually don't come on until you're halfway through the storms anyway.
