Hello, I am looking at a position with a company on Westerre Parkway near W Broad and I have no idea where to look for an apartment. I like safety and an area with singles. Thanks for any advice you have for me.

Anywhere in that area will be nice. Depending on your budget there are numerous places all within 10-15 minutes just look around.

My budget is around 1,000 per month starting, I really don't know anything about the Richmond area at all. Thanks for your help.

This is a great area to work and live. Here is a map of the area around Westerre Pkwy.

With UR being only minutes away there has to be places for you to go after hours and within your range.

You will have many many excellent options in that area --- West Broad Village is a strong possibility

safety and an area with singles - on that budget you can live in the Fan. And should. Commute is barely worthy of the name, you'll see why most people like you do it. You'll pay more for less space, tougher parking, and a less new apartment. And you'll do it for good reason, in exchange for being where the fun bars restaurants/ street life is.
