I can't wait either. For those of us in Short Pump north of Broad Street, this will be fabulously convenient thanks to North Gayton Expansion. No reason to ever step foot in the Short Pump Martin's again!

It is nice to see Wegman's expand into the Richmond area. I do not know how they pull it off with an expansive footprint across Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia with at least 81 stores.

I am overjoyed! Where exactly in Short Pump are they going? Think this will put Martins out of business there? Can they compete with the super Kroger and Wegmans? And Trader Joes and Whole Foods?

Just west of the mall on Broad Street (kind of across from Strange's).

Martin's is the new Food Lion IMO. If it closed I wouldn't be the least bit sad.

"Martin's is the new Food Lion" - hahaha. I agree with this. When I moved up to Richmond I heard everybody shops there because it used to be Ukrop's, and Ukrop's was such a big deal. I went a couple of times to the one around the corner from me. Just not impressed at all. I shop at Kroger.

Ukrops was nice. The same people working at the deli in 2002 were still there when we moved back to Richmond in 2008. Martin's is another story.

I too shop at Kroger : ) Which is funny because when we first lived in Richmond (2002-2005) going to Kroger in Short Pump (where Hobby Lobby is now) was roughing it.

Be still my heart!!! I've said so many times that the only store missing in this area is Wegmans. We're complete now. That's it. I'm never leaving the Richmond metro area unless it's to retire in Southern California, lol.

Awesome, that will be almost as close for me as the super Kroger! If only it could magically appear overnight . . . .
