It turned out to be a pretty cool event. I work nearby and was concerned about traffic but have not had any problems getting in or leaving work. I've watched some of it and it has been pretty cool.

I've been to most of the races. It has been a really fun and stimulating event. I'll be sorry to see it go.

Does anyone know when the streets that have been closed for the race, such as Main, Franklin, Grace will reopen permanently?

Seems that attendance exceeded predictions by 200,000! 645K spectators.

Hey Richmonders- I came down from Huntington, WV for the big race on Sunday, and I thought everything in your city went along smoothly. People at our hotel were great and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. If they were irritated by the crowds, they didn't show it. People were gracious with directions and suggestions for places to eat, and I thought the city did an excellent job with crowd control. I was especially impressed at how well Richmond had prepared for so many people garbage-wise. There were plenty of trash cans and everyone was using them. People were picking up--I can't imagine that in my city. Maybe it's just cycling fans (who are pretty cool people to start with) but there was a lot of love happening that day.
In short, we had a blast and I hope to come back when I can spend more time and check out more of the city. So, well done!
