Trying to buy a $225-$275 house in the near west end or west end and keying in on elementary schools. It looks like munford, fox, crestview, and tuckahoe are the higher quality schools but I'm having a devil of a time sorting out exactly where the school boundaries lie. The richmond city site had a blocky map which lacked street level detail. Any suggestions?

You may realize this, but I thought I'd mention that Tuckahoe (which I understand has an excellent reputation) is a Henrico County school and not a city of Richmond school.

I can think of a popular Short Pump realtor that has a real estate search engine on her website that lets you search by elementary school and price range. I probably can't link to it her (it violates tos) but I can DM it to you if you want.

Apparently Crestview is also a HCPS.

Unfortunately, that realtor changed her website, and I don't see how to search by elementary school anymore. I know when we were looking we got filtered MLS listings from our realtor based on elementary school. I'm just not exactly sure if there is a website for individuals to use to filter by elementary. If you use a site like realtor.com and look in 23233 and 23059, most of the elementaries that houses in those zip codes feed into are excellent.
Hopefully someone else will come along and know a way to search by school assignment.

The one thing I will caution you, please, do not buy a certain home for a certain school. MANY, MANY times boundaries are adjusted in large counties. Look at the system as a whole and make certain you will be happy no matter what school (within the county) your child attends.
