Hey guys,
I might be moving to Richmond and I am looking for apartments near the Capital One campus, but I'm not sure where to look. I am willing to commute up to 30 minutes and spend about $500-$700 (I'm hoping to get a two bedroom and a roommate, or can I get a good 1 bedroom for the $700-$800 range?).
I'm a recent grad, but not into the college/party scene, so a quiet neighborhood would be great. I'm also a single, young female, so safety is my biggest concern, and I'm willing to spend more for this.
I also love to eat out, especially Asian and Ethiopian, although living near good restaurants isn't a priority (you can never drive too far for god food ).

Thanks for any help!

Lot's of Cap One people live at King's Crossing off of Patterson near Gaskins. A few live in the Village/Estates and Horsepen, too.

I'm interested in this topic as well, as I too will be moving to Richmond to work at Capital One!

FYI...You may want to research CrapOne. It is not a well trusted employer. They have closed down numerous campuses and outsourced the jobs out of the US. Many people think thay they just consolidated them to WestCreek. Take a drive through during the daytime on a weekday (the gates are open), you'll see that there is plenty of parking everywhere.

Actually I've heard they just leased some large building off of Nuckols near Innsbrook. They're no SAS in terms of how they treat employees, but in this economy a lot of people can't be so picky. Regardless, Capital One is still the number 2 employer in Richmond and has slightly more full time employees in Richmond in 2010 than it did in 2009.

The building on Nuckols is theirs (white bldg). They emptied it over to two years ago. The Shady Grove campus has been nearly emptied. The three buildings on Cox are theirs (they are nearly empty - drive through their parking lot).

There are there many people who work at CapOne but not work directly for CapOne. They have been notorious for firing whole groups of people and getting an outsource company to come into the same spot and fill the positions at 1/2-2/3 the CapOne rate and w/o CapOne benefits. If you walk around any of the existing campuses these peoples name badges will say contractor on them.

I'm not sure which campus you are referring to, because I work here and good parking is next to IMPOSSIBLE to find. You must be a former employee.

I agree with the poster who said Capitol One is not a trusted employer. I know several people who have worked for Capitol One who have gotten laid off all at different times. Right after I graduated High School I went to Capitol One and took some sort of test in hopes and getting a job as a telemarketer, they talked it up and showed pictures of employees haveing parties and such but by looking around I didnt see any of that, then I heard it was all just to make the job look good. There have been people who work for them for 2 weeks and get laid off! No Lie! Be careful!

At CapOne if you have certain skills it's a good place to work, for others not so much.
