OK, I'm a New York exec fleeing winter, taxes, high stress and commute. Let me know if Lynchburg is my therapy...just give me some acoustic java, a real newspaper and NPR. And I'll be packing.

I think NPR is everywhere and what do you mean by a real newspaper?? It sounds as if you're not aware that Lynchburg is very politically conservative. Do you know that? If you're o.k. with that, then...

While most of Lynchburg is politically conservative, there are still plenty of liberals. Just check the election results. Surrounding counties are more conservative than the city limits.

And the wonder of the internet, you can read just about any paper you want on-line! I read everything from the NY Times/Washington Post to the WSJ/WashingtonExaminer and even the "Snooze & Advance"!

The ongoing construction has been making it hard for businesses along Bedford Ave and Rivermont. Guess I'll just have to go check it out to help them stay in business.

Jimmy on the James is great, BTW. Make an effort to check it out (if you aren't a Debbie Downer or Grumpy Jo[nas]).

Isn't it BETTER if I make an effort? Since I am stuck here, making the best of a sittuation is a better option then making the worst of a situation, right??

I tried to contact you once or twice and got no response. I'll be in town this Spring around march I think. Have to checkout my new garage and fence and move my cars back into the garage. See you then.

Also if you have an idea for a business that L really needs, a great retail space will open at the current site of the Randolph College Bookstore right on Rivermont. Good size and great location/exposure. maybe the streets will be done by then too.
