I need advice regarding a reckless driving citation I was issued last night. I stopped at a red light in my town, and after this red light there is a large straight uphill road. I gave my sports car some gas and pulled out rather fast and caught up to, who I later found out, was an unmarked Russell County police Charger. He was driving uphill and said he radared me from in front of my while driving up the hill. He pulled into the next widespot and got behind me, pulled me over in the next widespot. He asked me if I knew how fast I was going and I answered "I honestly have no clue sir." And he wrote me up for a 79/45. I am only 18 and this is my first citation ever. Once I got home I told my mother about it and she is actually best friends with the cop who pulled me over. She called him and he said that he didn't know I was her son, but he will try his best to work with me in court to drop the charges to just having to pay the fine and take a defensive driving course. What is my best route to take?

What is my best route to take, you ask? Slow down!
It also doesn't sit too well with me that you are able to call on some favors from Law enforcement. Learn from this situation, even if you get off easier with mom's help.

Don't put your mom in the middle of this.

The cop sounds like a nice guy, call him and offer him a couple hundred dollars to drop the charge.
