Hello! I live in Roanoke,Va and I have a 11yr old son who is Autistic w/ADHD. He is in school and does extremely well in that setting; however, its his after school care that I'm in desperate need of help for. He is currently attending a daycare that focuses mainly on caring for infants, toddlers, & kids ages 5-7. He is the oldest child there and the only child with special needs. He occasionally will have outburst and tantrums that involve hitting, pusing, & kicking. The daycare isn't really equipped to handle these types of outburst whereas at school they have a calming room(sensory) that immediately deescalates & dissolves the attempt to have an outburst. I need to find an afterschool program that will accommodate his needs, unfortunately his school doesn't have that and couldn't make any good suggestions as to where I could go. Any suggestions, please. Thank you in advance!
