When people in Roanoke need a service performed where do they look to find someone, like a plumber, auto glass, or pest control service?

And does anyone have contact information for the medium?

I ask people I know who they use for various services, and I google. I'd be looking for different things from the three examples you gave --- plumbers I'd prefer word-of-mouth referrals, auto glass I'd be looking for location/convenience, and pest control I'd be looking at price/options.

I use the web much more than any other medium ( I ignore and I won't see your company if you don't have a simple website that shows up on a google search for "auto glass roanoke" (for example). Location, hours, contact info, prices/options, etc.

I ask around to people who have lived here a while. Word of mouth is always the best!

I find my best referrals from work friends and neighbors. Got a great contractor that way, HVAC person, and someone to put UV film on my big West-facing windows.

And then you have the city-data forum!

I've also found people at the local home shows. Got someone to install my central vac that way.
