My memory may be foggy, but I swear I recall seeing a Jack In The Box (the fast food chain) here in Rochester many, many years ago.
I was young at the time so I could be wrong, but to make a long story short I took a Greyhoud bus home from visiting family in the south about 15 years ago, and when we arrived at the Midtown Plaza bus station I remember seeing a sign for a Jack In The Box with a picture of their smiley face mascot on one of the doors at Midtown. I do remember this being midday and the location appearing completely abandoned.
A Google search of Jack In The Box former locations in New York State turns up nothing more than a Facebook page called "Bring Jack In The Box Back To New York" and a Yelp post about the company's Bronx locations closing down in the 70s, so apparently they were definitely nearby, yet I have really nothing to satisfy this longtime curiosity other than the old childhood memory and thus, I turn to you guys who are probably much older and would've remembered.
So did the fast food franchise ever exist in Rochester, or is my memory inaccurate? Could there have been a similar business at Midtown Plaza in the late 1990s with a similar logo?
I don't know about the Jack in a Box. I do remember we had a Hardees once. It was on rt 104 in Ontario. Was to be the first of many. Not surprisingly they never opened another store. This was about 20 years ago.
I don't recall there ever being one here. They are not that good anyway, not missing anything. I remember Hardees and actually there used to be Carrols which I think was bought out by Burger King... that was a while ago. I remember Carrols and BK had the same colors, interior, etc.

Carrolls had a large presence here. One of Burger Kings largest franchisee's is Carrolls Development from Syracuse.
