How do Rochester residents feel about this? I think its great to hear! We will finally have someone from upstate as a major NYS politician, if Cuomo is elected of course.
I agree, a lot of people (ironically enough mostly from the suburbs) give Duffy a hard time but I thin the city is doing much better under him, especially compared to Johnson. He has a near 80% approval rating by city residents so he must be doing something right. To give Upstate, and especially Rochester, a much stronger voice in statewide politics is a godsend IMO
I think he is doing a wonderful job and is doing his best to improve the City. He was handed a bit of a mess when Johnson left and I think he has done a fine job cleaning up after him. As Informed mentioned.... It would be wonderful to finally have representation in Albany! Who better than Duffy? I think this is great news!
It's so refreshing to see the Republicans already slinging mud, saying things like "he's just using this as a springboard for his own political agenda" which makes me think REALLY?!?! What is a politicians main goal? His own agenda! Unbelievable, what should be a positive event is quickly going to turn in to a bunch of bull$hit being spewed from the mouths of some of this countries WORST people *rollseyes*

Very true.... also the people who feel like he is leaving the Roc in the dust. Don't they realize how GOOD this is for us? Who knows us better than Duffy? I don't think these people are seeing the positives of this! We will actually have a WESTERN NY... a ROCHESTERIAN in Albany. That is huge. We will have a voice! FINALLY! And hopefully a loud one....

You mean more government welfare for Rochester?
Guy's got a lot of unfinished business in that town.
I mean, don't get your hopes up on having influence on Albany. wtf is a Lieutenant Governor? The only hope IMO is if the State Senate ends up 31-31 (which is possible). Then Duffy will be very very powerful.
heck, the last time a governor was elected in NYS, it ended up being the Lt. Governor who took power!
