At my age a 15 minute walk is unthinkable.

It's not your age, it's your physical condition. My dad was walking for more than 15 minutes--albeit slowly and with a walker--until shortly before he died at 94. But I know people in their 70s who can barely walk any more.

It's probably your physical condition more than your age. We are 90 and 82 and walk everywhere. BUT, you are in Florida (I infer from your status) and so doing that in the heat of the day wouldn't be advisable at all. And of course to do your errands in the early morning might not be possible because some businesses wouldn't be open or whatever.

So you would need some other options, just because of your location.

Bikes and trikes are good.

Walking is nothing. My inlaws in Costa Rica walk a lot. Nothing to walk 3-4 miles and 1/2 of that is uphill.
