Yes we get seasons, and fall starts in mid to late October.

As far as the weather, yes, autumn in Sacramento can be quite pleasant. Hints of autumn's approach begin as early as mid September usually by the clear, cooler mornings that begin to materialize around this time. The air seems a little fresher and less stagnate in the mornings and I start to become happier because I know the long, uncomfortable summer is starting to draw to an end. The afternoons can still be quite warm to hot and will remain so until mid October. By later October, days become noticeably and consistently cooler (cooler meaning 70-80 degrees), days become breezy, and an early season rainstorm can occur during this period which highlights the leaves approaching their full color change. Early November is my favorite time of year as the temperatures fall into my comfort zone, (65-70 degrees) and the sun's intensity noticeably angles and shifts southward. By the end of November the season moves into a winter pattern and will remain so until around mid to late February. Autumn, (nor Spring for that matter), are not long seasons in Sacramento but can be quite pleasant for the four to six weeks a year we have each of them.

LOL! Nope not fall yet. It will be 101 this week. Try later in Sept and Oct.
Then we will be making our yearly trip to Apple Hill for fresh apple pie, cider and pumpkins.

OHHHHH I miss Apple Hill SO MUCH! I keep telling myself I'm going to fly down to Sac during October to go - but it's such a hard month to find the time

And yes I live in Washington and all my Sac friends ask "What about Washington Apples?

There is not a place in WA with an Apple Hill! Can you believe it?

It's hard to find a place like Apple Hill. It's not just the apples that keep us going back, well it is, but there is so much more. We spend the entire day up there. They have wonderful BBQs at some of the apple farms. Head over to our favorite pie shack for a slice & ice cream. Walk over to the craft vendors. Next head to the pumpkin patch & animal farm for the kids.

Where exactly is Apple hill? I'm fairly sure I've been to apple mountain, somewhere around placerville...we golf there. Might have been apple valley... Anyways, would love to know where Apple Hill is. (I'll peek at mapquest in case it's an actual city)
