I believe that neighborhood is called Arden Oaks. It's a really nice area.

North of Arden Way, not South. South of Country Club Plaza/Center. On Google Maps, it's literally where the "Arden-Arcade" label is, but there isn't really a label for that neighborhood. Bigger lots, bigger houses, even some horse property.

The places along American River Drive and some of the bigger lots along Fair Oaks are similar, but not quite on that scale.

I refer to it as a secret enclave because I lived near this neighborhood when I was a kid, and passed through it for many years and just thought of it as a scruffy lower-middle-class neighborhood (as a scruffy lower-middle-class kid riding through on the bus.) I visited a house in the neighborhood a few years ago and was struck by the scale and size of homes in the neighborhood. It may not be Beverly Hills, but it's sort of the local equivalent. American River Drive etcetera are just sort of "Beverly-adjacent."

And then there's Rancho Murieta, which is a whole other thing.

Jerry Brown refused to live there. The net 3 governors lived in different houses in Carmichael. Arnold lived in a hotel downtown. Jerry now has a loft downtown.
Arden Park, Arden Hills, American River Drive is not Carmichael, close but not exactly. No governor ever lived in the Carmicael mansion, Jerry would have been the first but he refused and lived in a 12 story 1920-30's spanish style/deco styled building in the 70's. I've been in the loft that Jerry's lives in now (16th & J), before he lived there, no, I was not the guy that broke into his loft.

The other 3 governors lived off of Fair Oaks Blvd in the Arden Hills-Park area (not Carmichael), between American River Drive and F.O. Blvd. (Wilson for sure).

Another area for bigger homes and good established neighborhoods is anything between Auburn Blvd/Winding Way/Cypress on the north, Watt Ave on the west, Whitney on the south and Walnut on East.

It's always been referred to as the "Edison/Auburn Blvd Area".

Public High School: Mira Loma

You can't go wrong with schools in the areas mentioned above. Use Schoolperformancemaps.com, schooldigger.com or similar to get an idea of the schools.
