Sorry to tell you Sir or Ma'am, I created this thread and it's about weather. It's not about the cost of living. It's real simple, how many times is one hot and for how long, and for how many days in a month, and for how many hours in a day.

If Sacramento had the kind of heat that Austin has your coworkers would be complaining every single day of the summer and they would be calling in sick everyday.

I mean seriously, your sentiment and logic is exactly why I created this thread.

Thanks for your common sense. Nicely stated, "I MISS THE FINE WEATHER IN SACRAMENTO".

Sacite,
Your last post is...

...downplaying Austins' horrible summer weather with twisted logic and downplaying Sacramento's great summer weather with twisted logic and ignoring actual real life measurements.... Makes my thread as relevant as ever.

By the way, housing costs are more expensive in Austin, sort of throws out your twisted logic about value and weather.

Median Sales price:

Sacramento - $239,775

Austin - $340,000

Interesting - are those stats based on city borders or entire Metro area?

*Nationally, in the summer, Sacramento cools into the 50’s and 60’s more than ALL other major metro areas in the nation even places as far North as: Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis, Detroit, and Pittsburgh

August 2014
Number of Days below 65F in August.

Northern Cities:
Chicago - 7 days
Boston - 18 days
Minneapolis - 19 days
Detroit - 23 days
Seattle - 24 days
Pittsburgh - 25 days
Portland - 25 days

Sacramento - 28 days!!

*Excluding, SF Bay area cities which have unusually cool summers, more so than any other area in the USA, and Denver which is 5,280 feet in elevation; high altitudes mean cool nights and mornings.

You're most welcome. Marry me.

The only time I ever had an issue with the weather in Sacramento was after a rain when I fell and broke my ankle walking up and over a grassy berm that was wetter than I thought it would be. But that wasn't the weather's fault or even Sacramento's - I was just being a klutz.
