Hi all,

My husband has been transferred by his employer from South America to Rocklin. We've arrived last friday and we're still in the process of getting a social security number, a driving license, and a car (exhausting week!). So far my husband can show a job contract with a good income, and a debit card from the bank as proof we're reliable prospects as tenants.

We have been offered temporary rental apartments in Rocklin, but We're looking for a single family home since our son should be attending school and don't want to move him around from one place to another.

Is there any chance that we can apply to rent a house without credit history and our situation at the moment? Your suggestions and thoughts are more than welcome. Thanks!

Meadowview or G Parkway landlords don't do credit checks.

My info isn't super useful but it will at least give the thread a bump. I'd say to at least give it a try through multiple avenues. Some folks may require a credit check, but others are likely willing to compromise. Offer a higher security deposit ask if having your husband's paystub makes any difference (once he gets one), that you can provide employment verification, and a work history (out of country). Just throwing out ideas. By the way, if you haven't already, be sure to google information about building a credit history. If you can't get a traditional credit card, start with a secured credit card to start.

It might also help to get HR at his employer to write a letter stating that his job is secure and they moved him here for work.

Thanks all! All your suggestions have been useful.

After many phone calls, mails, and hours of rental research, yesterday a property management agency called saying our application had been accepted, and we're moving into the new house located at Stanford Ranch on monday. We're very happy!

Now I'm trying to get familiar with the neighbourhood, and hope to be active in this forum exchanging information. Thanks again!
