Can someone go for me

It's on the top ten list of things I miss the most, you'd think OH "Laura lives in Washington, Land of Apples!"

WRONG. That's over on the OTHER side of WA not near Seattle, on Eastern WA is the hot weather similar to Sac area.

Food & Wine/Taste - In Season: It's crunch time, Apple Hill style - sacbee.com (http://www.sacbee.com/taste/story/1223120.html - broken link)

We LOVE visiting Apple Hill and coming back with a boot full of treasure in the fall. It makes one of the primary reasons that fall is our favorite season.

I rode up to Apple Hill last Tuesday 16th to discover the Jonathans were already gone. Several years ago my Grandmother who lived in Camino since the early 1950’s had an apple orchard where she grew a Jon Dell which was a cross between a Jonathan and Red Delicious on a couple of her grafted trees. I really enjoyed this apple and have been unable to find it anymore. I asked about the Winesaps and was told they were to be released later this month!

OH, thanks for this. I missed the Winesaps the last few years as we got up there too late. I think it helps to make some of the best tasting AH cider and homemade pies!
Sorry you missed the Johnathans. These great apples don't wait for us!

I remember having a copy of the approx apple ripening dates in the past, but it is probably always in Cider Press, the area newsletter thingie.

AH website:
Apple Hill Growers

oddly, can't get the link to parse correctly.

Thank you, dohmixer! Interesting. I actually host and maintain a private phpbb forum, and wasn't aware of this particular mod. I completely understand why this one is useful for the user population of this type of forum.

Thanks

Apple Hill makes a great outing for a day. You can also enjoy wine tasting at the wineries in the area.
