I currently live in Michigan but I'll be going to a school that has training for Dental Assisting. The program is a year after completing the program I'd like to maybe move to Sacramento. I'm just wondering if it's possible to make a decent living working as a Dental Assistant. I'm planning to go back to college for Dental Hygiene once I move.

Here are some job listings, I see one for $17 an hour, another for an orthodonist for $20 an hour so I guess it depends what you consider a "decent living" Dental Assistant Jobs, Employment in Sacramento, CA | Indeed.com

Now I'm wondering if I could find an apartment in Sacramento for $500 to $800 a month.

Probably but they might not be the nicest places in the greatest neighborhoods. If you are single you might consider renting a room in someone's home
