Does St. Helena, CA have an active Uber presence?

My husband and I will be be spending a night (and day) in St. Helena on a California road trip next month. We know of a few wineries we want to visit, but don't want to hire a limo/guided tour. Instead we'd like to walk or Uber around, BUT I've heard from a friend who has been that walking is difficult due to lack of sidewalks and she didn't think Uber was easily available.

Anyone from St. Helena or with recent experiences care to give your thoughts??

I think Uber might be available on weekends. Why not just download the uber app and look for drivers during the days of the week that you are interested in, that should give you some kind of idea. You could get a rental car, but I guess then one of you would have to be a designated driver.

My wife and I were out there last year during spring and didn't have a problem catching an uber. There weren't a lot of drivers available but the wait wasn't bad. We actually wanted to use lyft as we both had free rides available but there weren't any available drivers in the area.

Thanks for your reply 2sleepy. We'll be driving our rental to St. Helena and we'll be leaving it at the hotel. The idea is for both of us to have to freedom to drink, with Uber being our "DD". You have a really good idea about checking Uber's availability before we go for the same time/day of the week we know we'll be in town. Since I know we'll be there on a Thursday, I'll check the availability THIS Thursday to see what's out there. Very smart, great suggestion!
