A few more burning questions: (how much, to buy, tax)

Appreciate all the helpful information. I forgot a couple of things from my "list of burning questions"...you always forget something. Important question #1: Is it windy? When I say windy, I mean is it just cold in winter or does the cold include biting wind more than just occasionally? #2 Smokers: How much are cigarettes there, on average? Here you're looking at about $7-8 a pack for the expensive name brands, (Newport, Marlboro, etc) $6-$7 for the so-called generic and sub-generic brands. You can get them slightly cheaper in some stores and gas stations if you buy two. Where are the cheapest places to buy cigarettes? (And FOOD.) Thanks again.

It's very rarely windy here. Once in a while a winter rainstorm will have some wind but it's brief. There's a 'delta breeze' that cools the city at night in summer but you wouldn't call it windy. Very pleasant.

CA just passed a huge cig tax so whatever the price is it will be going up. Smokers are pariahs here so maybe not a good fit if that's important to you .
