Is is possible to ride (bicycle) between Davis and Sacramento? That is, is there some kind of pedestrian/bike path along I-80? When I look via google earth, I can't see anything, but I'm thinking there must be some way accross the river other than the freeway.

The question comes from thinking about jobs in Davis but house prices in West Sac. or is the housing market in West Sac low because it's a dump? How about Woodland?

Well...West Sacramento is industrial. The gas lines come directly from the bay area into the area via West Sacramento. So there is that. The houses are cheaper, but sometimes, you get what you pay for. It is a rehabbing area.

I had a friend that lived back in one of the master planned communities over there and it was okay.

Woodland is more rural in nature. It is kinda considered a farming community.

The only crossing I know (which doesn't mean that it doesn't exist) is the Yolo Causeway on I-80.

Default Cycling Davis

I concur with Guin Girl about what she has stated. I would go futher to say that the regional transit busses now allow bikes on them...That could be an option.

I've lived in Woodland, Sacramento, Capay Valley & Davis over the course of about 20 years....Woodland is ok if you aren't raising teen agers, nothing for them to do. West Sac is for me a scarey place, it seems there are alot of hard core drugs & people who take them there.

Davis is nice if you are in your early 20's. There are alot of college students there...alot of them share housing to cut down the high cost of renting.

Let me know if you have any more questions about the Yolo County area.
