I am doing a project on the rise of housing fees in El Dorado county. I have figures from 2004 and 2006. I have seen been doing some research and I'm coming out to about $55 per sq/ft for current 2008 fees. Can anyone confirm this or am I way off?

$55 per square foot????????? For Permits and fees????? A 2000 sf home would cost $110000 before even starting construction. That's insane!

IN our county it's about $11K for the permits on the same sized home or $5/ft.

Yup, thats why I'm writing about it, in 04 my brother built a house with all fees adding up to about $7 per sq/ft in 06 with fees around 22000 on a 3000 sq/ft house, when he finished another house it had risen to $30 per sq/ft or 36000 on a 1200 sq/ft house, And he just got in under the old prices before they went up again.
