Did you actually write that? Is this a joke?

East Sacramento is a beautiful area, very safe, except some of the residents are apparently racists.

I love Gunthers Ice Cream and McKinley Park. To me, those two spots symbolize everything that Sac is. Have yet to feel even mildly threatened anywhere in East Sac.

I love Gunthers too!
I never felt threatened there, even out walking in the dark. The only semi scary area is over by Safeway market when the bums are out.

I really feel at home at Gunthers. It is in an ethnic area, just like my old neighborhood growing up. And it so lively. People are out enjoying themselves at 10 at night, talking over a good, cheap cone. It is just so Sacramento .

I definitely prefer it to froz yogurt shops in Folsom/EDH for similar reasons, plus it's sooo good!

Though, for the record, Gunther's is in Curtis Park. Pangaea is also a great spot.

Burr's Fountain in East Sacramento serves Gunther's, which makes it clear where 95819 stands on the Gunther's/Vic's debate. In Midtown we have Devine Gelateria and Ginger Elizabeth so we tend to stay neutral on the issue, although I have a personal preference for Gunther's.

Nope, was just in Burr's a few weeks ago and they are serving Vic's. The late lamented La Bombe in East Sac served Gunther's, as does the ice cream shop at 65th and Folsom, so all faiths are represented on the eastside.

So what you're saying is that East Sac just welches off of South of Broadway's ice cream establishment?

(Btw, I only felt the need to point out the Gunther's geography since it sounded like the previous posters were at the Gunther's flagship.)
