Anybody here live in Sweet Home or travel through it regularly?

I see properties listed there once in a while, but it's obvious when looking at google maps that there's a train track running through the center of town. It also looks like the track ends at the Willamette Log Pond though.

How often are these tracks active?

The tracks then run North following route 20 up to and through Lebanon.
Just wondering if there's pretty much constant/frequent trains (including at night) or just once in a while.

Thanks!

No idea of the answer to your question but you can look at the tracks and make a guess. If they are polished and shiny they are getting regular use. If they are all rusty, not so much.

There are no passenger trains and the freight trains are carrying lumber from the mills. How often the trains run depends upon how much building is going on in the rest of the country, which affects how much lumber goes out.

If there is a lot of lumber coming down, you will have a lot of logs trucks going up.

I think Sweet Home is a very nice small town. If you don't have to have a job, because there aren't many jobs, it is in a beautiful setting and close to fishing and boating and all of the mountain sports.
