Replicating? Don't you need a state of the art laboratory for that sort of thing? There's noting like that in oragon. Or at least I don't think there is. I don't really know where oragon is located.

Oregon is the hot destination at the moment. Problem is, it’s full up. “We’ve” (I’m nearly gone) the nation’s tightest landuse laws, so any piece of land suitable for ‘a trailer’ likely has a McMansion or mini-farm on it…

There are communities that are hurting, with fewer jobs, but only slightly cheaper housing costs and land prices ...but their schools are crap and crime is high...

Portland and surrounds has multi-degreed graduates working for minimum wage serving food… Yah, minimum wage is fairly high, but not enough to off-set income taxes and housing costs. If replication means starting a family, though the Oregon Health Plan kinda works... the cost of survival is high ..and that's with folks capable of spelling it's name

Oregon is more expensive than most other parts of the US, so if you don't have a budget of at least 200k to 300k, I would look elsewhere.

What do you and your fiance do for a living? That will be a big part in determining where you should look or if you can even make enough to afford to live in Oregon.
