Drove through yesterday and was quite impressed with the urban infill that seems to be occuring. I know this didn't start yesterday, but there seems to be a new level of this type of development, and bringing along with it new retail. I see this as a good sign for Salem. Now if they can do something about the former Lancaster Mall area...

No, just a couple years ago, but it was during winter. The city looked much different in late Summer. Perhaps the route I took through town was also in play, seeing new development I might have missed on previous trips. Disclaimer: I lived in Eugene in the late 90's and early 21st century, and there is a definite change in the capital city since then!
