When I tell people here in California I am from Iowa, they think I would have gotten killed by a tornado by now. I think the same about an earthquake here. People in Iowa think hurricanes would be bad. It goes on and on.

Huh. Well, I hope this big earthquake happens when I'm out of town.
I've never been through an earthquake before and I'm not sure if I'd know what to do during one. I can live through -50 winters, blizzards, and tornadoes, but earthquakes are foreign to me.

Seriously natural disasters can happen anywhere. A few years ago a tornado did rip right through downtown SLC. Who would have thought? The largest earthquake in US history occurred in Missouri back in 1812. I hope it doesn’t happen, but hopefully the building codes will help. My house has a giant Iron beam going across the basement to give extra support and absorb the shock. Just be prepared with some extra food, flashlights, blankets etc.

I've never been through an earthquake before and I'm not sure if I'd know what to do during one. I can live through -50 winters, blizzards, and tornadoes, but earthquakes are foreign to me.
Seriously natural disasters can happen anywhere. A few years ago a tornado did rip right through downtown SLC. Who would have thought? The largest earthquake in US history occurred in Missouri back in 1812. I hope it doesn’t happen, but hopefully the building codes will help. My house has a giant Iron beam going across the basement to give extra support and absorb the shock. Just be prepared with some extra food, flashlights, blankets etc.
