Hi,
My family recently relocated to Utah and are currently renting in Daybreak. We are interested in buying a house in the Maple Hills, near the fire station on the left side of mountain view corridor behind the fire station. I am a little concerned about the rating of the zoned schools out there, Fox Hollow elementary and Sunset Ridge middle school. Also, looking at a crime map, the area does make me nervous for my small kids. Anyone live out there and have children that attend those schools that can give some much appreciated insight?

My grandpa lived near there (near 7000S and 6000W) up until about a year ago. Crime was no issue. He was a lonely old man and never had any problem at all. Once you get west of 5600 it's hard to find a "bad" neighborhood, anywhere in the valley.
My uncle and his family live there, and his kids aren't exactly scholars, but they're not dumb either. I don't think the schools are inadequate and your kids' ability to succeed is far more dependent on your dedication as a parent over the qualifications and ratings of the schools they attend.

Personally I think that you'd be in quite a nice neighborhood and the MVC will be a great access for you, when it is completed and extends up to the 201.
