Hi - we used to stop at this store near the temple every time we visited, now it's gone with no explanation on the door and a stripped down building. Does anyone know where they went? I can't locate them in the phone book or internet for some reason, maybe they went out of business? Thanks!

Default Scandinavian Shop

Hello, spotted your post, we are living in New York, but I remember that charming shop, really lovely, and know it's moved elsewhere in Salt Lake because since our move a year ago we keep receiving little postcards at first telling us about the special clearance prices pre-move to a new location, and then telling us the new location. Cannot remember where, but husband says he thinks the new location is somewhere near the Salt Palace? Sorry, that's all we know.

Thanks, they moved once from west of the Temple to somewhere around 400 E or S, we went to the new store a few times and now it's gone, phone number won't connect to even a "new listing message". If anyone knows where they relocated, or if they closed, I'd appreciate it. What a great place to find gifts, food and clothing from Norway, Sweden, Finland, etc.

Default The Scandinavian Shop

To Idaho Mom,
I don't know how in the world I found this blog but my father owned the Scandinavian Shop in Salt Lake. Yes we moved to a new location across from the Salt Palace but shortly after, we went out of business due to lack of customers and the construction downtown. We packed up everything and sold a lot of items through garage sales and eBay.

There is a small store on 900 East and 1700 South that sells some Scandanavian items, food and coffee. It's not a big place but seems pretty popular.

I'm pretty sure that place is out of business now.
