OMG this is sooo hard. We plan to go down to SA in September to ck out the area and different apartments. We'd like a decent 2BR in a nice area that doesn't cost $1000 a month!! I just don't know where to look or where to start

I don't know where you're looking but you should have no problem finding a 2 bedroom apartment for under 1,000.

I agree. You really shouldn't have any trouble finding an apt. for under $1000/month. www.mysa.com is probably a good place to start.

My suggestion would be to look at renting a house though.
