Although I've been to The Rim many times, I've never been to the Palladium. The parking lot there is poorly designed, in addition to always being crowded, and I don't care to walk a mile between the car and the building. I'd rather see a movie in a more humble venue than deal with that ridiculous parking situation.

I pretty much love going to the movies - I think it's because the closest movie theater was 30 miles away from my tiny hometown. Going to "the show", as we called it, was an enormous treat and didn't happen often. So to this day I still enjoy it.

I do much prefer the Bijou simply because it isn't normally full of kids, and because you can have a meal and a drink or a dessert and Starbucks while enjoying the movie. However, I enjoy a summer blockbuster as much as the next girl and for that I like a big screen with a big sound system in a big theater, so we head out to the Silverado for that type of movie.

It's just hard to believe that the Rim/Shops 1604/10 area is almost 4 years old. I'm not a big movie person, but the Palladium is always my first choice...probably because of the location followed by Huebner Oaks, Fiesta 16, Silverado followed by Alamo Drafthouse near North star followed by the Rialto which are nowhere near me but easy to get to. I'm not a big fan of the Quarry theater...it's kind of...I don't know. Almost in line with Fiesta 16...so-so.

The Palladium and the Bijou both match that description. However, you might try the Alamo Drafthouse. One is over in Westlakes, and they just recently opened one over by North Star Mall. They have a better selection over there, and you can enjoy a nice dinner there, too, without totally breaking the bank. Plus, if you're into cult classics and counterculture, from time to time they host events featuring these films.

The paladium is ok. its nice to take a bucket of beer into the movie with you. I also like that they had adults only movies so you didnt have an idiot with a 10 year old or a bunch of 18year old girls trying to watch a horror movie with you at 10 at night and screaming the whole time like they were lit on fire. I am surprised they are losing money. that place is always busy.

i did hear that the developer was bankrupt though. That was why all the construction has stopped. It was supposed to be all complete by now. But it looks like they may never finish it.
