Hello,
We just moved into a rent house and the past tenant did not keep the yard up and we have found roaches.
Can someone suggest a great exterminator that is honest and inexpensive? I don't want to go with Terminex, because we are just renting this house and I don't want to do a contract. Also, I would like someone that uses non toxic chemicals. I have a baby that is learning to crawl and puts everything in his mouth.
Also, I need a dependable yard guy. I have one now that is terrible. He trimmed some bushes for me and just left the trimmings lying in the yard. Who does that?
Thank you for all suggestions.

It is not uncommon for the property management company to ensure extermination is done before a client moves in. I once had once tell me that they had do so...I insisted on seeing proof that it happened or that they redo it. They sent out an exterminator.

You may be cheaper to purchase a spray from Walmart and just do it yourself instead of paying someone else.

I concur with this....I have been using a white and red gallon jug/sprayer...I think it is called Home Defense. I spray all around the outside of the house, and window frames. and then inside I spray all the baseboards, behined washer/dryer, toliets....all the obvious places....and never have any sort of bugs. no ants, no roaches....nothing

I know you said you have a kiddo, but I dont think anything "non-toxic" is going to be effective and I dont care what the exterminator tells you.

the lawn is the funnest part about owning / renting a property with a yard. i would never pay someone to do something i somewhat enjoy doing.

if i had a mower, id come do your lawn for ya, but alas, my landlord takes care of my lawn for me

I want to bump this up, because I need suggestions, too. We aren't having a pest problem technically, but I want to be pro-active. I have found 1 scorpion in the house, and we found one dead cricket in the attic, and I want to keep it that way! (Not that I want to keep scorpions in the house, but I know it can be much worse!)

Off topic, but what do I do with the scorpion? We put it in our critter catcher so the kids could learn about scorpions, but we've learned just about everything we needed to know, so now it's time for Stinger to go. Dh says we should squish him, I think we should just pitch him out by the back fence (we have an acre). Dh says he doesn't want scorpions in the yard. I think they eat other bugs, so I'm fie with it. It has become quite a debate in the house! Until we decide, Stinger is living in my kitchen, looking sad because he isn't outside. Honestly, they are the most boring "pet" ever. He just sits there.

And I need a lawn guy. Who isn't afraid of snakes.

Early Bird Pest Control, Apple Pest Control, Boerne Pest Control...

As for the lawn I don't know of anyone..sorry. When we rented we paid our neighbors son to do our lawn.

KILL the scorpion. UGH, yuck. I am almost a vegetarian so I love all animals, but I hate the insect (or whatever kingdom those monsters come from) kingdom.
