We just moved to SA in May and I'm in desperate need of a haircut! I'm looking for a good, trendy (but not over-the-top in pricing) hair salon nearby. I live off Potranco and 1604 but am willing to travel if the place is really good. I don't need color or anything fancy - just a style refresher to prepare me for the birth of my second child in August. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated....

Thanks!

Well everyone in my family like John over at Fantastic Sams on De Zavala and 10 near the HEB. I loved Johnathen at the Trus Dell Salon over off of Huebner. His cut for my long curly hair was $45.

My daughter and I have been seeing Jeffrey at the Regis Salon in the Ingram Mall. My mother in law now goes to him...we've all been happy.

I would love more recommendations added to this post!

I have a few ideas but I need someone who is good with color for mine and my daughter's hair. I'm going blonde(r) and my daughter wants red highlights in dark brown hair.

Smile Hair SAlon Referral

My daughter and I just had our hair done over at the Rim at Ulta. They did a beautiful job. Make a reservation with Paula. She is awesome.

I will second the Ulta recommendation. Cuts run from $40 to 50 depending on the stylist's level of training. I have gone twice now. Gracie was my stylist and I was very happy with the results. I have always gone to Supercuts since I hated to spend more than $15 on a haircut, but I wanted something different and Gracie did a great job. You can really see a difference in their training levels at these different places just by watching HOW they cut your hair.

ok, ok, one post about your move would have been sufficient! Sorry, I'm just not fond of in-your-face-over-the-top self-promotion!!!!!

I have yet to find a hairdresser I like. If it's not personality, it's technique...or price....or facility......I just want a pleasant person, reasonable price, quality cut and a CLEAN (especially the restroom) facility.

So I have no recc's for a good one unfortunately, but I've got plenty I'd never go back to! And I really don't think I am all that picky!
