Since I started the thread on the Beethoven Maennerchor Oktoberfest, I thought I should do the same for the New Braunfels Wurstfest coming up on 29 October - 7 November...

General info can be found here. Basically, Wurstfest opens on weekdays at 5 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am. Closing times vary by day. There is an admission charge to enter the festival grounds. This fee provides access to all entertainment areas, including the Wursthalle. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Group rates and special day discounts are available. Admission is for the entire day. Food and drinks are sold throughout the grounds. Visitors are prohibited from bringing food and beverages onto the grounds. This includes, but is not limited to beer, wine and distilled spirits. No pets are allowed and there are ATMs if you want to part with your €€€ (OK, really $$$ but Euros were more in the spirit of things! ).

And there's a great video (that won't embed! ) here!

Tschüss! M2

It's definitely a blend of German and Texas cultures (think "wurst tacos"), whereas the Beethoven Maennerchor Oktoberfest is closer to a true German fest but on a much smaller scale.

However, both are great fun and highly recommended!

Cheers! M2
