I have a friend who lives in Ladera Ranch in Orange County. It's either in or near Coto de Caza, the development that was featured on a really bad yet really entertaining reality show called The Real Housewives of Orange County. So there's at least one more planned community called XYZ Ranch outside Texas.

I doubt XYZ Ranch is limited just to Texas. I bet calling a development _____ Ranch is very common throughout the west.

Hey, this is interesting - I googled Irvine Ranch, and apparently that is what the development is called. The website is Irvine Ranch - New Southern California Homes. The Irvine *Company* owns The Irvine *Ranch* development. Perhaps that is where the confusion comes from.

do a searcy for 'nytimes and hill country' and you'll find it.

basically the hill country is taking in an influx from the USA --everyone who wants to move out of the fast paced life is coming here, and that's making it the fast paced life all over again.
