You can also call 311. Just don't put any up where you shouldn't especially without a COSA Permit. The City has Staff and their sole job is to drive around town and take down signs. I've seen them pull up Home Builder's signs if the permit decal was not attached.

Now don't take this as the entire truth but I have a friend who works for the COSA. He told me that Staff has even called the number's on the signs and if enough valid information was obtained the person was citied. Again don't take that as the truth but still be careful.

Wish they'd really start to nail some of these guys that up those signs on corners, city easements, poles, etc.

I agree. We could open up a Hardware Store with a vast supply of Nails and Staples just from one Telephone Pole.

Wellguy is totally correct. Be aware that ALL bandit signs get picked up in Stone Oak, with or without a sticker.

Signs with a city license sticker are not considered bandit signs and therefore neither the city nor citizens are authorized to remove them (except that citizens can always remove unauthorized signs posted on their own property). That said, I don't see any criminal recourse in the code if someone does remove a licensed sign, so I guess the entity whose sign was removed would have to determine who removed it and sue them for damages.

No signs of any kind are allowed in Stone Oak without prior approval. The Stone Oak ARC is pretty "no tolerance" on the subject. That's why they are rarely seen in SO. If they are, they don't stay up for long.

Gotcha. I see it's in the SOPOA bylaws:

Upon Entering into Westcreek off of Potranco I saw a Ford Ranger FULL of various signs. The fellow was walking towards his truck with a sign in hand. All I could see for certain were the stakes that go into the ground. This is the second time this week that I have seen private vehicles picking up signs. Monday morning around 7:00am I saw two fellows in a pickup on 1604 at Potranco picking up Home Builder signs. I have no idea if the COSA is contracting out this work. Everytime I have observed Folks either picking signs up or pulling them down from telephone poles they have always been in a COSA pickup.

I'll have to do some reading on the Sign Ordinace since I am no longer certain if the City Jurisdiction goes out into the ETJ (5 miles outside City Limits) or 5000' outside as Ordinance's do.
