No MB, BMW, Range Rover etc. Bentley was there with a couple

You are correct. The hi end manufacturers don't have co op money to give to their dealers for car shows, thus the dealer has to pay the bill. It is nice to display these cars for people to look at but most cases car shows don't equate to any sales in hi end cars, especially in San antonio. As an exhibitor in the car show, 400 sq feet of space, barely enough for two cars is about $5000.00 for the show; then you have to have manpower to work the show, thus taking salesmen off your floor. It's a lot of work for a dealer, especially for hi end dealers where they have very few sales people. Also to your list of cars you won't see are Ferrari, Lotus which has the Elise and the new Evora.
Bottom line, it's too expensive to display these marques to get a return on the investiment in the San Antonio Auto Show..
It is sad though because for the most part the general public does come out to see these exotics...

I agree. SA is not the market for the luxury vehicles so it does not make sense for those dealers to waste their money at the SA Auto Show. Last year’s show was pretty pathetic and with the economy the way it is, I don’t see this year being any better.
